Thinking of renting a Boston apartment? Tis the season. I probably don’t need to tell you – it’s not the easiest thing to do to. But we’re here to help you. Here is a great list of must see online resources for your Boston apartment search.

Student Guide/City Services:

Basically it’s news that is going on in your neck of the woods…since I live in the Fenway area, I looked it up, and it basically had everything to do with Fenway Park.

Walkscore.com
New to the area? Or want to try a different restaurant other than the Subway around the corner. Walkscore is great for this. Type in your address, and BAM, you get a whole smorgasbord board of listings from grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, even the closet T stop to your area! I LOVE walkscore.

And if you’re anything like me, you like to know what you’re walking into.
Yelp is great for this. Get reviews and comments on what people think of this newly found place. Although sometimes I feel people go on there just to toot their own horn. Or be courageous and test out the place without reading reviews. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

That’s what we have for helpful links. If you have some to suggest please leave us a comment!

With the weather being a hit or miss, sometimes a good cup of joe makes everything all good. (Seriously, what is with this weather? We are told it’s going to snow TONS, and then we get nothing? EH? If it was opposite day, I’d be cool with it, but getting all bundled up for nothing…I feel like the kid from A Christmas Story). Anyways… no matter what the weather, having a good cup of coffee can make your day. Whether you’re sipping by yourself and people watching, or out with some friends catching up on last nights shenanigans. Here is a decent list of some good coffee joints in the Back Bay area.
(Sad to say, I am not going to name off the Starbucks and Dunkin’s. You all know where they are. And I want to keep this more local and Boston friendly).
Espresso Royale Caffe
288 Newbury Street
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 859-9515
A good assortment of coffee, desserts and bagels.
Suggested Drink to try: Spanish Latte, not a coffee drinker? Their tea gets pretty good rave reviews.
Wired Puppy
250 Newbury Street
Boston, MA 02116
(857) 366-4655
Web: www.wiredpuppy.com
A good blend of different types of coffee with a fresh concept and interior. Also offers baked goods. Can’t pass that up.
Sebastians
666 Boylston St
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 437-0645
If you’re looking for amazing ambiance then grab your coffee here. Yeah, it’s in the Boston Public Library, but when it’s gorgeous outside, get your drink and head out to the courtyard to enjoy it all. It’s almost as good as enjoying your coffee in Italy with the view. (Ok, doesn’t come close, but you can at least pretend).
The Red Room @ Cafe 939
939 Boylston St
Boston, MA 02115
(617) 747-2261
Web: www.cafe939.com
If you want coffee and some good music then hit up Cafe 939. (If you can handle Berklee students. heh. heh No offense here, just thought I would throw it out there.) They also serve sandwiches. But seriously, looking to hear some new tunes, this would be the place to catch up on that.
Cafe L’Aroma
85 Newbury Street
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 412-4001
Web: www.laromacafe.com
Offers a “special” espresso of the day. And of course they offer sandwiches and supposedly quiches to die for. Can’t go wrong there now can you? Non!
And of course…
Tealuxe
108 Newbury St
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 927-0400
Web: www.tealuxe.com
They offer tea, and of course coffee, but they are better known for their Tea. So if your not a coffee drinker, head over here. It is also known for one of the best places to people watch in Boston. And we all know, when summer rolls around, it’s quite entertaining.
Now I am pretty positive I left out some. I did for a reason. If you know of a hidden coffee gem in the Back Bay area, or heck, in Boston, let us know! Let everyone know! Share your secret. Leave a comment! We love that!
And of course, it needs to be mentioned, if you need a pick me up, and are looking for some apartments, all of these places have Wi-Fi. Bring the ole’ laptop along and check out our Boston Apartments Search page…it’s like the google search of apartments!
