“My best friend was moving from Germany to the United States, and he found this realty company randomly, and some others. I offered to be the point of contact between them and him, since he was still abroad and unable to see units. Of all the people we worked with, I thought our agent from this group, Stephanie Lanman was just the best!

Firstly, she was great about working with me and following up with someone who wasn’t readily available, which is hard to do! She respected my friends’ price point completely, and the apartments she showed us were stellar in quality. She returned all calls quickly, and did not rush us through the process.”

“Our experience with Charlesgate could not have been better.  We were moving to Boston from Paris and needed a place for the first of September, traditionally a terrible time to find apartments.  I communicated with three different rental agencies, two in Cambridge and Charlesgate in Boston.  We had only four days in July in which to look at apartments, make a decision, and sign a lease.

The two Cambridge agencies were a disappointment – one completely ignored all our given constraints (for example, living in Cambridge), and the other just had nothing available, at all.  Stephanie to the rescue!  Stephanie patiently drove us all around Boston, showing us as many as 15-20 different apartments.  We were picky and probably a little difficult – we started out by specifying a size that we quickly realized was too small – but Stephanie was a champ, always smiling, patient, and helpful.  She really seemed like she had our interests at heart and would do her best to get us into a place we loved.  As it turned out, the very last place we saw was the one we chose.  She even negotiated a half fee on our behalf, without our asking!  If you don’t have the time or patience to slog through the poorly lit photos and badly written descriptions on craigslist, I highly recommend Stephanie at Charlesgate.  Our place is beautiful, our landlords are very nice, and we couldn’t be more satisfied.”

“I recently finished an apartment search using Charlesgate Realty Group, and my experience working with Stephanie Lanman was great – Stephanie’s hard work and professionalism put her a cut above agents I have worked with before in Boston, and in an industry where mediocre and discomfiting customer service can be common, everyone at Charlesgate was sharp and a pleasure to work with.

I started my search very late in the rental season, and had resigned myself to the fact that I would probably have to settle between a limited number of not-so-great options. Stephanie was able to show me a number of properties over the course of week and a half or so – she made such an effort to get a sense of what kind of property I was looking for (even when I wasn’t exactly sure myself), and followed up with new listings and ideas. “As a sales manager as well, I think there is nothing more important than a consultative sales person, one who puts their clients’ needs before their own.  This perfectly describes the experience I had with Kim.  I met with nearly a dozen realtors when looking to rent my “perfect” place.  She was the only one who built a relationship with me, listened to my needs and worked tirelessly to help me find my new home.  In the beginning, we saw dozens of places that were almost perfect but, not once did she ask me to lower my standards.  She had the attitude that “we WILL find the right place”.  She worked for me to find the right apartment.  She called numerous other realtors at competing offices to get listings, knowing that she was going to lose a full commission by co-broking, but did so to make sure I was seeing everything that was available.
